Two police officers killed in shootout with armed robbers
Two police officers stationed at an NNPC Mega station in Sokoto have been gunned down by hoodlums.
While speaking on the incident to newsmen in Sokoto, Abdulkadir said that the officers were attacked and killed while on duty at the NNPC Mega station, Gusua road, Sokoto.
He said, “The suspected armed robbers came in a vehicle, overpowered the policemen, shot and killed them.
"They made a futile attempt to open the safe of the filling station.”
According to him, the armed men are suspected to have aimed the Friday, Saturday and Sunday sales at the filling station.
Abdulkadir added, “We will disclose the identities of the policemen killed after duly informing their various families.
“Their remains had been deposited at the Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto.”
Punch also reports that the CP also confirmed the discovery of a headless body in the city this morning.
According to Abdulkadir, the headless body was reportedly found packaged in a sack and dumped at a refuse site on Maituta road, Sokoto.

On the shocking discovery, he said, “No arrest was made as at now in the two cases, but we have swung into action to apprehend the fleeing hoodlums and bring them to book.”
Abdulkadir said that the headless body was also deposited at the morgue.
