Jilted wife takes out frustration on pregnant woman; slashes her face with razor

The incident which saw Ogbaichi arrested and charged before an Apapa Magistrates' Court, happened at the compound the duo live at Bright Road in Ajangbadi area of Lagos State, when Onwuzuruike intervened during a fight between Ogbaichi and another woman who is equally pregnant.

It was gathered that the victim had tried to caution Ogbachi, a mother of four kids, when she engaged the other tenant in a fight but she got mad and dashed into her room, brought out a razor blade with which she used to lacerate the intruder.

The bleeding Onwuzuruike was rushed to th Ilogbo General Hospital whil the matter was reported at Ajangbadi Police Division and Ogbachi was arrested and detained at the station.

The now sober Ogbachi, in an interview, said she did not know what came over her when she attacked Onwuzuruike because she had been traumatised since her husband left her.

She said the victim mocked her every time because she is a single mother and usually sided with those looking for her trouble in the compound.

At the court, Ogbaichi pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault and the presiding Magistrate, Mr T. A. Bolarinwa, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She was however, ordered remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri Minimum Prison pending when she will perfect her bail while the matter was adjourned till 9 March, 2016.
