Maybe this would give viewers a different opinion of nuns after watching this video.
Nun Sings Madonna's Iconic Hit Song "Like A Virgin"
You might think it was original if you probably heard Sister Cristina Scuccia version for the first time as she flipped the 1984 pop song with raunchy lyrics into a soulful one
An Italian nun who won 2014 edition of reality singing show “The Voice of Italy” did a total remake of Madonna's iconic hit song "Like A Virgin" as her debut single.
You might think it was the original if you heard Sister Cristina Scuccia version for the first time as she flipped the 1984 pop song with raunchy lyrics into a soulful one.
The 26-year-old told Catholic newspaper Avvenire: "I chose it myself, without any desire to provoke or cause a scandal."
"By reading the text, without letting yourself be influenced by previous (interpretations), you discover it is a song about the ability of love to renew people, to redeem them from their past,” she added. "That's how I wanted to interpret it. That's why we transformed the pop-dance track it was into a romantic ballad a bit like Amos Lee, more like a secular prayer than a pop song.”
Even the music video was totally different from Madonna's - instead of running around Venice with a man, the Nun chose the love city too but without a man.
Sister Scuccia who became a nun at 21, clinched a major record deal with Universal after winning the TV competition in June.
