Man stabs himself to death during court proceedings

The deceased reportedly concealed the suicide weapon in a magazine, which evaded the metal detector door.

According to Guardian, Marhanka hid the scissors inside a magazine to conceal it from the metal detector door.

The deceased had just received a four-year jail term sentence for smuggling poppy and marijuana and for growing it.

According to the court, Marhanka had shown no sign that he could inflict harm on himself. It released a statement stating its disappointment over the unfortunate incident.

The statement reads, “We deeply regret that Tyrel Martin Marhanka killed himself during the sentencing,”

“He was cooperative during the investigation and the trial. His attitude was mild and he did not show any signs that he would commit suicide.”

The court made a vow to improve its security in order to avoid a recurrence of such an incident.
