A 30-year-old father of four, Nosakhare Aimufua, has been ordered remanded in prison custody by the Oredo Magistrates’ Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State, for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged for raping a 14-year-old girl.
Rape must be condemned
Aimufua, who was arraigned on a one-count charge of unlawful carnal knowledge, committed the offence at his residence, 12, Ere Street, Off Ore-Oghene Street in Benin.
According to the police prosecutor, ASP Sylvester Omor, during investigations after the accused was nabbed in the act on September 14, it was discovered that he had defiled the girl on several occasions.
Omor told the court that each time the accused finished having sex with the girl, he would clean her private part with his shirt and swear with it that if she disclosed it to anybody, she would die.

When the charge was read to him, Aimufua pleaded not guilty but the magistrate, Mrs C.A. Nwoha, refused to grant him bail, ordering that he be remanded in prison till the next adjourned date on November 16.
