Prankster vandalises iconic Hollywood sign
On New Year's Day a prankster creatively turns the famous and iconic Hollywood sign to Hollyweed.
A prankster in Hollywood, Los Angeles started off the New Year by vandalising the iconic Hollywood sign at around 3 a.m.
The prankster turned the Hollywood sign up in the hills into Hollyweed. He did this by using draped tarps over the sign which made the Os turn to lower case e's.
A peace sign and a drawing of a heart could be found bottom right corners of the two letters.
The Hollyweed sign is most likely a nod at the recent legislation of marijuana in the state of California.
On November 8, 2016, November 8, 2016, marijuana was legalized in California.
The Hollyweed prank is a throwback to Jan. 1, 1976 when Daniel N. Finegood altered the sign the same way. Mr Finegood died in 2007 at the age of 52. Before hid death Finegood messed with the sign several more times.
The Hollywood has been the target of pranksters for decades. However, increased security including video cameras has led to fewer cases of vandalization.
