Man gets 2 weeks prison term for stealing handbag

David Kafancha, the prosecuting counsel in the case told the court that the accused visited the Mountain of Fire Ministries in Utako, with the aim of stealing.

The ruling was given by a judge at the Karimo Upper Area Court in the Federal Capital Territory.

Mohammed Abubakar, the judge who presided over the case however gave the accused, who committed the crime in a church, a N3,000 fine option.

Adeyemi however failed to make use of the golden opportunity given to him, and was then taken away to Kuje Prisons, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

According to Kafancha, the offence contravened Section 95 of the Penal Code.
