It was sad news for the family of Excellent Okpako Akevwighome, a 29-year-old National Youth Corps Service (NYSC) member serving in Anambra State, after he slumped and died at the Christ Gospel Church, Edjeketa, in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, while he was leading the choir ministration, reports Vanguard.

According to family members of the Delta State University graduate who was the choir master at the church, Akevwighome slumped as the choir ministration hit a frenzy on December 31, 2015, during the cross over night to usher in the New Year and died immediately while other church members thought he had fallen under the anointing.

An eyewitness and a member of the choir Akevwighome was leading, said he and others thought their choir master was under the influence of Holy Spirit, but after waiting for about 20 minutes and he did not get up, some of the choristers tried to help him up only to find out that he was already dead at about 11.30pm.

The pastor in charge of the church, Pastor Peter Akpovwera, expressed shock at the incident, saying:
