LASTMA officials caught on video brutalising driver

Men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency have continued to take the laws into their hands despite warnings from the state government.

LASTMA officials are back to their game

Despite warnings by the Lagos State government to men of the state Traffic Management Authorities, LASTMA, they still seem to go about their jobs unprofessionally, brutalising motorists and road users in the process.

One such incident was recorded on Monday, November 16, at the Berger Bus Stop, where a bus had a punctured tyre and the hapless driver pulled up with the aim of changing it.

But the overzealous LASTMA officials accosted the man and with one of them jumping into the man's bus and forcefully grabbing the keys from him, the others set about brutalizing the man who pleaded for mercy from the adamant officials who were bent on impounding the vehicle.

The man who was injured in the process, kept screaming in the Yoruba language:

‘E ma Ba aye mi je’ (‘don’t ruin my life’), the traffic enfrocers would have none of that.

Another driver whose bus had been earlier seized, also narrated how the officials had earlier arrested that morning and gave him a N70,000 ticket.
