Deaconess nabbed for stealing two babies in Ogun

A deaconess has been arrested for stealing twin babies kin Ogun State.

The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has arrested a 52-year-old woman, Abioye Olusona, who claims to be a Deaconess in a church, for allegedly stealing two-weeks old twin babies, reports Premium Times.

The spokesperson of the state NSCDC, Kareem Olanrewaju, said the suspect was arrested at the Primary Health Centre located in Joju area of Sango-Ota, Ogun State after she took the babies to the health center for immunization.

Olanrewaju said that the hospital suspected the woman stole the babies when, after routine checks, it was discovered that there was no fluid from her breast and they clinic tipped the Command which moved swiftly to arrest the woman and took possession of the babies.

Upon interrogation, the woman claimed to have been delivered of the babies on October 20 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after registering at a private hospital called ‘Celica Hospital in Ibadan about ten months ago, but later confessed to have stolen the babies when she could not have her own babies.
