It was gathered that the randy Yahaya, had, on September 24, the day the last Sallah was being celebrated, lured the young girl who was in the company of her playmates going round the town in the spirit of the occasion, to his room with the promise of giving N200 to celebrate the day, and raped her.

A member of the local vigilante in the area, said the girl was only rescued when her friends ran back to report to report to their parents that Yahaya had taken the girl into his room and locked the door and the vigilante group was informed and they mobilized and went to the girl's rescue.
“It was the other three girls that ran back home to report the matter before our men were invited. When we forced the door open, the man was naked and in the process of raping the little girl,” the vigilante said.
He said it was in the process of taking the suspect to the police after he confessed to raping the girl that some youths in the area attempted to lynch him but he was rescued and whisked away to the station.
