The Chairman of the body, Prof. Attahiru Jega said he was acting on the advice of the National Security Adviser over the lingering Boko Haram threat, following security reports.
The security agencies have also promised Nigerians that they will dislodge the insurgents from their stronghold in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States in the six weeks gap so that Nigerians can safely go to the different polling stations to vote.
But many are sceptical of this promise, arguing that if the military could not defeat Boko Haram in over five years, how do they hope to do that in six weeks?
