Man in court over alleged N335,000 fraud
An Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court has granted a 32-year-old man bail in the sum of N50,000 over fraud charges.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court that the accused committed the offence between March 22, 2016 and April 19, 2016 at Ikole-Ekiti.
Akinwale alleged that the accused collected the amount from one Mrs Olarewaju Abigail with intent to defraud her.
He said the accused deceived the complainant that he would supply her a Toyota Corolla spot car for the amount.

He said the offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 419 of Criminal Code Cap. C16 Vol. 1 Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor applied for a short adjournment to enable him study the case file.
The accused however pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Ajibade, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Ajibade ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and have a verifiable address.

The case was adjourned till April 3 for mention.
