47-yr-old man in soup for raping 18-months-old baby

A 47-year-old man is in all sorts of trouble after he was caught red-handed raping an 18-months-old girl in Lagos.

Vanguard reports that Magbatie, was caught in the act by neighbours who alerted the father of the girl and he reported the matter at a police station in the area.

It was learnt that the little girl was rushed to the Ikorodu General Hospital by her parents for tests and treatment, where it was confirmed that the girl had been defiled.

The police therefore referred the parents to the Mirabel Centre at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, for further tests, while the case was reported to the Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT), where the Coordinator, Lola Vivour-Adeniyi, facilitated the transfer of the case from the Owutu Police Station to the gender desk of the state Police Command in Ikeja, to expedite action on the case.

Magbatie is currently in detention while the police carry out its investigations and would be charged to court at the conclusion.
