Teenager nabbed for abducting 4-yr-old girl in Kano

An 18-year-old girl has been arrested after she connived with two young men to kidnap a 4-year-old child in Kano.

Kidnap crime is now on the increase.

An 18-year-old girl, Fauziyya Bala and two other teenagers, Aliyu Tasiu and Bello Wada, has been arrested by the Kano State Police Command for kidnapping a 4-year old in Tudun Wada local government area of the state.

The incident happened on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, when they trio conspired to abduct the child and went ahead to make a demand of N3 million as ransom.

The police reveal that the three suspects have confessed to the crime, stating that they had planned to finance the establishment of a poultry farm with the money.

Bala who was the initiator of the plan, according to the police, was the one who kept the child while Tasiu who is a brother to the guardian of the child reportedly distracted the grandmother of the infant, who was taking care of the child at the time of the kidnap while Wada snatched the kid.

The stare Commissioner of Police, while parading the teen suspects, said:

"The case was reported at Tudun Wada division; the two male suspects were part of those who accompanied the grandmother to the station to report the matter.

The police promptly started investigation and successfully arrested the suspects and rescued the victim without any harm or injury."

Tasiu, while confessing, said:

"The parents and grandmother of the boy we kidnapped can afford to pay us the N3million we requested, I am aware and sure the money is available."
