Kidnap kingpin apprehended by police
The kingpin and his gang is alleged to have taken the victims to Jimbiri Mountain in Bauchi local government area.
In a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, the suspect was identified as one Saidu Abdullahi, 28.
The spokesman said that the suspect was reportedly arrested following a tip-off on April 30, 2017, at Dandango town by detectives attached to Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the command.
Mohammed revealed that the suspect conspired with other members of his gang and invaded the town located in Bauchi Local Government Area and abducted three persons on April 27, 2017.
The victims were identified as Fati Kawu, 22, Adam Kawu, 25, and Malam Hassan, 35, all of Dandango town.
Daily post reports that the gang is alleged to have taken the victims to Jimbiri Mountain in Bauchi local government area.
Mohammed said that the detectives traced the suspects to their hideout and rescued the victims.
He added that the victims were rescued in good condition and have been reunited with their families.
Daily Post reports that one cell phone allegedly used in the ransom negotiations amongst other incriminating items were recovered from the suspects.
