A 31-year-old man identified as Okechukwu, has been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command for allegedly cutting the throat of his mother's 20-year-old house maid, Chioma Onyegili, because she refused to allow him rape her.

A young man has killed his mothers maid because she refused to allow him rape her.

The ugly incidence which happened at the family residence at 56, Zik Avenue, Fegge, Onitsha, has thrown the community into shock and many are questioning the sanity of the young man and why he should commit such a crime.
According to residents in the area, the murdered girl was living with Okechukwu's 70-year-old mother and he used the opportunity to always harass her for sex which she always resisted.
Feeling frustrated, he threatened to kill the maid if she failed to allow him have his way with her and when she told him she would rather die than have him sleep with her, he got angry and used a cutlass to hack her to death.

Okechukwu who immediately escaped after he committed the crime, was later arrested by policemen attached to the Fegge Police Station.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), in charge of the station, Rabiu Garba, who confirmed the incident, said that when the information reached his office, he immediately dispatched a team of detectives, who subsequently arrested the suspect.
He added that the suspect who has confessed to the crime, would be transferred to State Investigation Department (CID), for further investigation, while the deceased’s corpse had been deposited in an undisclosed hospital mortuary in Onitsha.
