A man in Delta state has been beaten to a stupor by a mob after he allegedly stole meat from his neighbour’s pot, Leadership Newspaper reports.

The middle-aged man was reportedly assaulted in Asaba, Delta state for allegedly stealing meat
The suspect/victim, identified simply as Sylvanus, was said to have taken the meat from a pot of soup in the Ogbe-Osowe quarters area of Asaba, the state capital.
After he was caught by neighbours, the 42-year-old man was then attacked and assaulted by the mob.
Reports say that Sylvanus attempted to quickly swallow the meat when he was caught in the act.

Residents reportedly said that the suspect had been previously arrested for a related offence.
