The suspects now face charges at a Port Harcourt magistrate court, for allegedly murdering the hostage after being paid a ransom of N1.5 million for his release.
Abductors kill corps members after collecting N1.5m ransom
THE Department of State Security, DSS, in Rivers State has arrested five suspects allegedly behind the abduction and murder of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Mr Sampson Worlu.
The abductors then reportedly disappeared after the demanded ransom was paid to them. They were eventually tracked down by men of the DSS.
A brother of the deceased hostage, Charles Worlu says all the family want now is for justice to be done.
He said the kidnappers made the family pay them ransom twice, the first being one million naira and the second time, five hundred thousand naira and still murdered the hostage.
The corps member, a lawyer already called to Bar, was serving in Imo State before his abduction at Rumuokoro roundabout in Obio Akpor local government area of Rivers State.
