Company driver docked for alleged diversion, theft of N2m pharmaceutical products
The accused, he said, was asked to deliver the goods to different customers, but sold the goods and converted the money.
Oladipupo, whose address was not given, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
According to the Prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Imhonwa, the accused committed the offences between September 20012 and August 2013 at Olpharm Nigeria Ltd located at No. 13, Agbaoku St., Opebi, Ikeja.
Imhonwa alleged that the accused stole the pharmaceutical products worth N2 million and absconded.
The accused, he said, was asked to deliver the goods to different customers, but sold the goods and converted the money to personal use.The offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
Section 285 states three years in jail for stealing, while Section 409 prescribes two years for conspiracy.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted N300, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, who gave the ruling, said the sureties should be a reputable company staff with an evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case until July 3 for trial.
