DSP George Okafor, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), who confirmed the arrest, said that the suspect lured the victim to an abandoned jeep in the area and defiled her.
According to him, the matter was reported to the police by the community’s Youth President, Uchechi Elechi.
“The victim was rushed to the Ezzambgo General hospital, Ohaukwu LGA by sympathisers, as her parents for whatever reasons failed to report the matter to us.

“This however, didn’t deter us from going after the suspect, as he would not go unpunished for committing this heinous crime.
“We are convinced that God would definitely punish him for wickedly defiling an innocent five-year-old girl,” he said.
“We also urge the public to always give us relevant information that would assist us nip various forms of crime in the bud,” he said.
