It was reported that the suspects were caught by the community vigilante group on their way to sell the stolen goat in Asaba, Delta state.
John Okolie and Peter Egbo confessed to have stolen the goat from the owner’s compound at night and have contacted the buyer before they were confronted by the security operatives.
Due to the suspect’s insufficient explanation of the ownership of the goat, they were arrested and handed over to the police for further investigation.
Comfirming the arrest of the tricycle driver and his friend by the Asaba Vigilante chairman, Nnamdi Chukwuedo he said
“We were on patrol and suspected the movement of the suspects at about 10:30pm with the goat. The goat was bleating in the tricycle and when we asked the suspects, they could not give any satisfactory explanation as to the owner of the goat and we took them to the police.”
