Trio in court for stealing, receiving stolen goods
The accused, whose addresses were not given, are facing a three-count charge bordering on stealing and malicious damage.
Oladimeji and Idowu were arraigned alongside Izuchuckwu Okwundu, 27, who allegedly bought the stolen items.
The prosecutor, Insp. Olakunle Shonibare told the court that the accused committed the offences on Sept. 29, 2016 at NUD Road, Isabo Abeokuta.
Shonibare said that the accused stole items belonging to Busari Saheed, Taofik Babatunde and Olabisi Famuyiwa.
“They stole items such as copper wire, cable wire, installation wire, industrial fans and sockets."
“The accused also stole a Tiger generator, grinding machine, a rug, jewellery, cosmetics and some weave-ons,’’ he said.
Shonibare said some of the goods were recovered from Okwundu’s shop when he was arrested.
The offences contravened Sections 390, 411 and 451 of the Criminal Law of Ogun, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the three counts of the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr Idowu Olayinka, granted Oladimeji and Idowu bail in the sum of N500, 000 each, with two sureties in like sum.
He also granted Okwundu bail in the sum of N150, 000, with two sureties.
Olayinka adjourned the case till March 21, for hearing.
