Fraudsters, Scammers Taking Advantage Of OJB’s Condition

We saw this from a mile away, veteran producer, OJB Jezreel is dying and is in dire need of a new kidney, new kidneys cost expensive money, money that he doesn’t have. So what’s next? The call goes public, he has roughly two months to stay alive without the surgery, and with his life expectancy dwindling, the stakes are high.

Raise N15 Million, Or OJB dies.

Everyone jumps to the call, an adhoc committee is constituted with a title that encapsulates their objective. SaveOJBJezreel. Urgent, immediate and intense. You either save OJB, or he crosses into the beyond. A new account is opened, and the details are everywhere, in your faces, your forums, discussions, and every other platform. The donations begin to come in. Charitable udders are worked, and the financial milk of human kindness slowly begin to pour into the collecting accounts. Some good deeds are publicized (Don Jazzy’s N1M donation), and some are rewarded in the hearts.

All these would sound noble and charitable of course, but in a country where the norm is far from scrupulous and the daily dealings range from the valiant to the villainous, a good cause is bound to always attract two sets of people. The good contributory guys, and the bad parasitic guys. OJB’s quest and campaign for survival is no exception.

The good guys came in first, Nomoreloss, the singer, became the standard bearer of the cause. Rallying together a competent team of friends, colleagues and volunteers, he struck out with purpose and zest, determined to prolong the life of his friend and mentor. Taye Aliyu, OJB’s manager is also in the mix, pushing, stimulating and canvassing for monetary aid. One can’t help but get the feeling that they will prevail. OJB will live.

But somewhere, faceless and systemic, are other campaigns. Identical to the real SaveOJBJezreel group. The same modus operandi, but bearing uncertain motives. Inasmuch as we will want to help save a soul, we should take steps to ascertain that the mite we donate actually gets to the cause. To ensure this, all who seek to help should pay directly to the publicized bank account BABATUNDE OKUNGBOWA, UBA: 1015075120. This is advisable because it bypasses the suspicious maze of middlemen, and goes directly to the Jezreel family purse.

Also rumors abound that the specified N15 million surgical bill have been realized, but they are lacking in credible facts and figures. No representative of the OJB action team, or family has divulged information to that regard. We know not where that story originated, and the degree of its credibility, but one thing remains certain: OJB needs your help, and some fraudulent elements would want to take advantage of the situation. Skip the middlemen.

PAY DIRECTLY TO THE BANK ACCOUNT! SAY NO TO FRAUDSTERS, A DYING MAN NEEDS YOUR HELP!
