Boy kidnaps grandmum to collect ransom from his uncles

Simon planned with a gang to kidnap his own grandmum and called his uncles to send the ransom for her release.

A boy has been arrested by men of the Delta State police after he kidnapped his grandmum and requested ransom from his uncles.

Police swept into action with the report that a 90-year-old grandmother, Mrs. Agari Yard Hannah was kidnapped at Umeh in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Investigation by police revealed that one of her grandson simply known as Simon is the main architect of the kidnapping.

Simon had kidnapped his maternal grandmum with the intention of collecting money from his uncles.

The Commissioner of Delta State Police command, Mr. Yakubu Alkali, said the boy was apprehended by detectives from the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad.

Mrs. Agari Yard Hannah has been released while the boy and his accomplices are currently in police custody.
