2 armed robbers killed by Abuja police in shootout
Two suspected armed robbers have been shot dead by the police in Abuja during a shootout.
Daily Trust report that the robbers had stormed the area and raided a shop belonging to one Paul Nwiwu, and while they were still operating, a distress call was sent to the police team who arrived just in time and engaged the bandits in a shoot and in the end, two of them were killed.
A police statement said:
“Two of the hoodlums were gunned down during the exchange of fire, while one locally made pistol and four rounds of live ammunition were recovered from them.”
The remains of the deceased were later deposited at the Kubwa General hospital.
The Dutsen Alhaji Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Aisha Yusuf, confirmed the incident, adding that efforts are on to arrest the other fleeing suspects.
