Man beats wife to stupor for over-celebrating election result

An angry husband beat his wife almost to a point of death because she celebrated an election result too loudly.

The presidential and National Assembly elections held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, turned out to be a disaster for the family of Raphael Abiodun, a commercial motorcyclist, after he  allegedly beat his wife, Bose, to a stupor for over-celebrating the outcome of a result in their local government.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Abiodun was bitter when the results in their Igangu area of Omu-Aran in Irepodun local government area of Kwara State, came out in favour of candidates his wife supported in the House of Representatives and Senatorial elections and she purportedly jubilated a bit too much.

The action of the wife was said to have got her husband really mad and not able to hold it back, he descended on her and beat her so bad that he inflicted severe injuries on her.

It took the intervention of neighbours and some commercial motorcyclists in the area to save the situation from degenerating further.

According to an eyewitness, Abiodun accused his wife of not being sympathetic with him on the negative outcome of the elections for his party.
