Ekiti Police arraign 5 men over alleged theft

A Chief Magistrates' Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has granted five men bail for the alleged theft of cars.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Caleb Leranmo, told court that the suspects committed the offence in October, 2016.

Leranmo alleged that Temitope stole a Daewoo Lamoi car, Honda Hala car, Isuzu Midi bus and a Mazda 626 car from people yet to be identified.

The prosecutor said that the offence was punishable under Section 390 of Criminal Code Cap C16 Laws of Ekiti State 2012.

He also alleged that Olajide (57), Friday Omoniyi (33); Edward Dickson (57) and Ubale Ahmed (48) received the stolen vehicles from Temitope‎.

The suspects, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Adesoji Adegboye, granted bail to each of them in various sums and sureties.

He adjourned the case till May 8 for hearing.
