Man arraigned before court for beating wife over feeding allowance

A driver has been charged to court for beating up his wife over feeding allowance and neglect of his duty as a father.

32 year old man in court for stealing mobile phone.

The suspect, James Oluwadairo, appeared before the court on today Wednesday, September 14, facing charges of assault and neglect of duty.

Oluwadairo who is a driver and resides at 28, Olarekun St., Abule Egba area of Lagos State, reportedly committed the offence on August 18 at his residence.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Rafael Donny, disclosed to the court that the accused had beat up his wife identified as, Bosede, after she request for feeding allowance.

“If not for one of their neighbours who intervened, the woman would have been badly injured.

“Oluwadairo has also stopped providing for his five children 13 years ago,” he said.

Oluwadairo pled not guilty to the charges based on the offences which reportedly contravened Sections 170 and 205 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Mr Tajudeen Elias, the Chief Magistrate presiding over the case, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with a surety in like sum. The case was adjourned to September 28 for mention.
