Waiter in court for beating up his girlfriend

A cheating hotel attendant has been dragged to court for beating his girlfriend after she caught him with another woman.

Fidelis Adie-Ugbe, a 26-year-old waiter in a hotel in Lagos, has been dragged before an Abule Egba Magistrates’ Court for showing the brute in him and beating up his lover, Blessing Michael.

The incident which happened at at his residence at 23, Omo Isreal Street, Oke-Odo, in Abule Egba, on June 2, has seen the Cross River State born Ugbe handed a two-count charge of conspiracy and assault.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Rachael Williams told the court that Ugbe had beaten up the lady over an allegation of infidelity on his part.

"The complainant met another lady in Fidelis-Ugbe’s compound and a fight ensued between the ladies. As the fight raged on, the accused took side and started beating Michael.

And when Michael wanted to take some of the electronics she allegedly bought with her money, Fidelis-Ugbe and his accomplice beat the complainant."

The accused however, pleaded innocence the charges were read to him and the Magistrate, Adenike Shonubi, granted him bail in the sum of N50, 000, while adjourning the case till July 22 for hearing.
