Do you think the police will obey the 'no bail payment' order issued by new IGP?

Will the Nigerian police adhere to the order by the IGP that charging of money for bail should stop?

IGP Solomon Arase

Shortly after being named the new Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase came out with an order that the Nigerian police should stop the practice of collecting money to bail offenders out of their various stations.

The order may sound as good news to Nigerians who have always complained about the high financial demands by the police for bail.

Even at their stations, it is clearly written that bail is free but everyone knows that the notices are just formality as the police still charge money for bail.

In fact, there are instances where offenders are taken to court because they could not pay for their bails.
