Have you ever been molested by the Nigerian police?

The police has belaboured so much to make Nigerians take them as friends but many of their officers still do not abide by their slogan that the 'police is your friend.'

The slogan, 'the police is your friend', is supposed to mean that men of the police force should be friendly, sociable, approachable and very helpful.

But many Nigerians believe that the opposite of the slogan is the case as the officers have turned out to be more of a scourge to members of the society.

There is no doubt that there still exist some very warm and nice officers who abide by the slogan but a vast majority of them take laws into their hands, brutalize others members of the society as well as extort money from the people at will.

In the past years, there has been an increase in police brutality and molestation of people, so much that many see them as arch enemies.
