Man strangles, stabs roommate to death in Abuja

A man has been declared wanted after he allegedly murdered his close friend and escaped into thin air.

A man residing at the Byazhin Across, in Kubwa Satellite town of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, in on the run after allegedly strangling and stabbing his roommate and close friend

It was gathered that the suspect had strangled the deceased using a rope, after stabbing him several times on various parts of his body.

The body of the deceased was discovered by neighbours, abandoned in a pool of blood by the suspect who locked the door and escaped.

A neighbour told Daily Trust that they overheard noise from the room the deceased and the suspect stayed but that no one suspected any foul play until they woke up in the morning to discover that the door to the room was locked from outside.

“We became more worried when we waited for him to come out as usual but to no avail. We then alerted the police who had to force the door open,” the neighbour said.

The police then took the body of the deceased to the Kubwa General Hospital where he was confirmed dead and deposited at the hospital morgue while a manhunt is being intensified for the alleged killer.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), of the Kubwa Division, Chief Superintendent Nuruddeen Sabo, confirmed the development, saying that efforts were on to arrest the suspected killer.
