51-yr-old man murders 81-yr-old mother over N500K

A 51-year-old man has murdered his octogenarian mother because she failed to give him the sum of N500,000 from his late sister's will.

The mother killer, Oluwaseye Ayoola

Punch reports that the man, who lives in the Lekki area of the state had gone to his mother's residence at the United Estate, Ajah, on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, and demanded the sum which is part of an N11 million his late sister had willed to the family before her death.

But it was gathered that Oluwaseye who is the octogenarian's second child, got furious when his mother told him she did not have the money in the house and should give her time to raise the amount.

He allegedly grabbed his mother by the throat and gave her several punches but not done with that, he grabbed a hammer and smashed her on the head before hitting her with a television set and the fled the house, leaving the old woman in a pool of her blood.

It was gathered that it was the groans of the dying woman that alerted neighbours who rushed to the scene only to find that she had given up the ghost.

The murder was reported at the nearby Ogombo Police Station and the suspect was later arrested at the place he was hiding.

A resident of the area who spoke on the brutality of the woman said Oluwaseye was always aggressive whenever he wanted to collect money from his mother.

“Egbon Seye has always been very aggressive whenever he wanted to collect money from Mama.

His brother is abroad and he always sent money to him. All his siblings give him money as well. He is just lazy and wicked.

The television he smashed on the woman was big. This was a mother he had depended on all his life. Even if he wanted the whole property, he should have exercised patience."

A shop owner who lives close to the deceased house on the estate supported what the resident said:

“He (Oluwaseye) was living with the mother until lately when he decided to live on his own. The mother raised the money for his rent.”

Confirming the incident and the arrest of the suspect, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Dolapo Badmos said the case was reported to the police by the suspect’s brother, Akintunde Ayoola.

Badmos added that after killing his mother, the suspect fled the scene but was arrested after police operatives launched a manhunt for him and that he would be charged to court after proper investigations have been carried out.
