Honourable Kawu Sumaila, one of the 'gate jumpers', is the deputy minority leader of the House of Representatives and represents the Sumaila/Takai Federal Constituency of Kano State.

One of the legislators who scaled the gate of the National Assembly on November 20 is a Kano governorship aspirant for the 2015 elections.

Honourable Kawu Sumaila, one of the 'gate jumpers', is the deputy minority leader of the House of Representatives and represents the Sumaila/Takai Federal Constituency of Kano State.

Hon. Sumaila was pictured on top of the gate and collapsed in a chair when he eventually got into the building due to an exposure to tear gas.

The legislators resorted to scaling the gate of the complex when the entrance was barricaded by security officials who were supposedly there to prevent the Speaker of the House, Aminu Tambuwal from entering.
