Here are four ways to pack for a beach vacation:

1. Pack two days before:

Waiting till the night before, or a mere hours before your flight means that you pack in a rush just to get it over with.

Packing the day before will ensure that you do it leisurely, with plenty of time to rationally decide what you need and what you don't need on the trip.

2. Choose a lot of neutral colours:

Neutral colours will allow you be versatile with the uses of the outfit and if need be, you can add a pop of color with shiny jewelry or a colourful scarf.

Also make sure you leave certain types of fabric behind, such as silk blouses or dresses that need to be ironed. You may be unable to iron and the outfit just ends up taking extra space.

3. Pack no more than three of each beach essentials:

You need no more than three swimsuits. And if they are two piece, make sure they can match so you can pair them up for more options.

You need no more than three pairs of shoes. Apart from the fact that shoes can be heavy, you'd be spending time in the sand so you need flip flops and high heels will be useless.

Skirts, tank tops, tunics and white sweaters should also be minimal to save space and reduce excess in your luggage.

4. Take a tote bag:

A big tote bag would double as your beach bag, holding all your beach stuff, and a regular day purse for when you're not on the beach.

And here’s a biggie: no more than 3 pairs of shoes. They are heavy and take up way too much space in your suitcase.
