For the 6th year running, Iceland has emerged as the safest country in the world, followed by Denmark and Austria.
These are the 10 safest countries in the world
Iceland claimed the top spot owing to its low murder rate and small population while Denmark which has often been ranked as the world's happiest country came it at number 2 owing to its rare border disputes.

In spite of the recent attacks that have plagued Europe in recent times, the continent still managed to produce 7 out of the 10 countries on the list.
This is according to a Global Peace Index (GPI) ranking, which the Institute for Economics and Peace used in charting the world's safest destinations.
The GPI score considers many factors such as instability in the region, the presence of nuclear weapons and the number of police and security personnel.
Rounding up the top 3 list with its low weapon imports and peaceful democracy was Austria.
