Mrs Ayade said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Calabar by her media aide, Mr Fred Abua.
She said the platform would be provided through an exposition in Calabar in collaboration with her NGO, Mediatrix Development Foundation (MDF) and Citenigeria.com, a lead tourism exposition platform.
According to her, the event billed for Thursday in Calabar “is aimed at supporting the tourism niche that Cross River is known for’’.
“This platform seeks to showcase the viability of the fashion industry in the state and an opportunity to exhibit the essence of the building a garment factory in our state,’’ she said.
According to the statement, Mr Peter Ofuka, the Chief Executive Officer of Citenigeria.com, also said that fashion designers are free to sell their brands to an expanded event attendees.
He urged fashion designers and enthusiasts to use the forum to showcase their best to an international audience.
According to the statement Lafarge, Africa’s giant in cement manufacturing; Cross River Studios; House of Lavender and Mynx Events are also sponsors of the event which also has audition for models on the bill.
