Jason Porshe's Kairos x Chronos Resort '16 collection

Jason Porsche is a fast emerging formal menswear fashion brand that has catered to numerous celebrities in the short time they have been around. Now, they are back with their new collection and it definitely doesn’t disappoint.

The title of the collection, 'Kairos x Chronos', is reminiscent of the Greek mythology, which infers an air of supremacy and dominance both in appearance and carriage and this is evident through the powerful poses of the models, as well as the superior styles, such as trench coats and tuxedos.

Although most of the pieces from the collection, which includes tuxedos, double breasted suits and three piece suits for the gents as well as trench coats and tuxedo dresses for the ladies, are Fall season styles, there were subtle hints of spring season choices too with bright pops of color like green and red.

For this Resort collection, what worked was the tailoring and fit. The hemlines looked perfectly tailored with lovely, smooth finish. As for the ladies, the button placements and the mix of colors were expertly incorporated.

In addition, the colors and styles used were quite rich and diverse for a wide range of men and women, no matter what your comfort level is, be it conservative or a bit adventurous.

Finally, the one aspect I wished the brand would have played with more, which would have worked well with the Greek theme, is fabric texture. The textures used for the collection were great but subtle, most likely to balance out the colors and cuts of the designs. However, the Greeks were big on being dramatic and grand and a little more detail or luxury in the fabric choices may have been great.

We definitely appreciate the simplicity and tailoring of the collection and let’s not forget the expert modelling of , as he and the other models carried the pieces with grace fit for Greek gods and goddesses. Check out the offerings and let us know what you think.
