Digital influencers get together to discuss new media in Nigeria

This year's conference examined the proper use of social media for organisational growth.

This year's conference was themed 'Business Unusual: Nurturing a more Vibrant New Media industry in Nigeria'. The event organized by Tosin Ajibade Olorisupergal held on May 27, 2016 at Four Points by Sheraton, Lekki, Lagos.

The opening speech was given by Lola Masha

"New media has given brands a fundamental quality boost with added details and a better reach", she said in her speech.

The conference hosted by by Oscar Oyinsan and Vimbai Munithiri was also attended by over 300 participants including agency representatives, brand executives and celebrities featured in-depth conversations and debates around new media practice and policies in Nigeria.

Ajibade shared why this year's conference was important in a statement.

“We converged to articulate interests and inputs from stakeholders in the Nigerian online/digital media space and seek to turn the results of that conversation to real-world uses," she said.

The conference featured five panels moderated by Tolu Balogun, TV presenter Bolanle Olukanni, Abolade Owoeye, Sanusi Ismaila and Pulse Entertainment Editor Princess Abumere.

Speakers at the event included Adaora Mbelu-Dania, Ono Bello, Aibee Abidoye, Remi Ogunkoya, Subomi Plumptre, Jumoke Okikiolu, Chinedu Abili-Mordi, Femi Falodun, Okechukwu Ofili, Joy Isi Bewaji, Seun Onigbinde, Mohini Ufeli, Bankole Femi, Chinedu Azodoh, Adenike Akinsemolu, Segun Adaju, Kayikunmi Stefan, Bankole Temitayo and Olubunmi Ayodele.
