Highly Anticipated Award ceremony set to hold today

The highly anticipated Headies Awards 2015 ceremony which recognizes the talents of Nigerian music stars and rewards them in grand style today, January 1st.

The highly anticipated Headies Awards 2015 ceremony which recognizes the talents of Nigerian music stars and rewards them in grand style is expected to attract the crème de la crème of Nigeria’s entertainment industry including superstar musicians, A-list Nollywood artistes, media personalities and many others.

Throwing more light on the format of this year’s award nominations, Ayo Animashaun stated:

“This year, only music released between July 2014 and June 2015 was eligible for nomination. To view the nominees and to vote for your favourite talents in the respective voting categories, visit www.theheadies.com to increase their chances of going home with the highly coveted 21-karat gold-plated Headies Plaque.”

Further, the award ceremony which was initially billed to hold on the 30th of December will now coincide with with the equally hugely anticipated January 1st concert by .

Olamide is top of the nomination table for this year's Headies with eight nods including – Best Pop single, Rap Album, Best Collaboration (twice), Best Street-Hop Artiste, Album of the Year, Artiste of the Year, and Song of the Year.

Following closely is Wizkid, who has seven nominations in Recording of the Year, Best RnB/Pop Album, Best Pop Single, Best Collabo, Album of the Year, Artiste of the year, and Song of the Year.

The Headies 2015 will be hosted by Kaffy and Bovi, with performances from 2Face, Vector, Falz, Iyanya, Seyi Shay, Adekunle Gold, Olamide, Simi, Victoria Kimani, Eva Alordiah and more.
