Today, 7 February, 2014, is a special day in the life of one of the most successful Nollywood actresses, singer, model and philanthropist, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, aka ‘OmoSexy’, as she celebrates her

Born of the 7 of February, 1978, in Lagos, Nigeria, but of OndoState origin, the pretty mother of four has stood the test of time in the entertainment world and has become a reference point in the industry.

Omotola has made over 400 appearances in Nigerian movies since her debut in 1995, receiving numerous high-profile awards, launching a music career, and amassing an enviable fan base. She is the first African celebrity to receive over one million likes on her Facebook page.

Over the years, Omotola has become the most watched actress in Africa. In 2013, she was honored in Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world alongside Michelle Obama, Beyoncé and Kate Middleton.

Also in 2013, Omotola made her U.S. television debut in VH1's scripted series, HittheFloor and on November 2, 2013, she spoke at the 2013 edition of the WISE Summit, held in Doha, Qatar.

Omotola first acting role was in the 1995 movie, VenomofJustice, where she was given the lead role in the movie, and that set the stage for her flourishing career in Nollywood.

OmoSexy’s’ biggest break came in the critically acclaim film, MortalInheritance, where she played a sickle-cell patient who fights for her life despite the odds of survival.

The film is regarded as one of Nigeria's best movies ever made. Ever since then, she has not looked back and has starred in several blockbuster movies, including GamesWomenPlay, BloodSisters,AllMyLife, LastWedding, MyStory, TheWomaninMe,MirrorBoy and LastFlighttoAbuja, and a host of others.

Omotola, became a UnitedNationsWFP, (WorldFoodProgramme), Ambassador in 2005, going to missions in SierraLeone and Liberia. She has been active in the Walk the World project and participated in the WalktheWorldcampaign in Liberia with PresidentEllenSirleaf-Johnson.

Omotola who is a chief in her community, runs her own NGO called the OmotolaYouthEmpowermentProgramme, (OYEP), which brings hundreds of youths together for the EmpowermentWalk and Convention.
