Nollywood's A-List actress, singer, model, brand ambassador, fashionista and one of the most eligible spinsters in the Nigerian movie industry, Genevieve Nnaji, MFR, is 34 years old today, 3rd May, 2014.

The delectable actress who has kept many men dreaming of her, was born on May 3, 1979, in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria, but grew up in Lagos.

The fourth of eight children, she was brought up in a middle class environment with an engineer father and nursery school teacher mother.

Genny, as she is fondly called, started her acting career as a child actress in the then popular television soap opera Ripples, at the age of 8.

In 1998, the single mother of one was introduced into the Nigerian movie industry with a role in the movie, Most Wanted.

From there, the very pretty and sexy actress has moved on top act in over 300 movies and has won so many awards including the Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Award, AMMA, in 2005.

At one point, Genevieve was the highest paid actress in Nigeria before she ventured into music and released her debut album, One Logologo Line under EKB Records, a Ghanaian record label.

She has also featured in several commercials, some of which include Pronto beverage and Omo detergent. In 2004 she became the Face of Lux in Nigeria in a highly lucra­tive spon­sor­ship deal.

In 2008, Genny launched her clothing line St. Genevieve, and donated the proceeds to charity.

She has been awarded a Member of the Federal Republic by the federal government of Nigeria.
