PR exec to start own company

Bello, with a wealth of experience in PR, has worked with some of the biggest names in the corporate & entertainment industry

Timilehin Bello

Public relations consultant, Timilehin Bello fondly called BigTimi departed BlackHouse Media, one of Nigeria’s leading PR agencies, on Friday, March 11 2016 to focus fully on his set plans for 2016.

Bello, with a wealth of experience in PR, has worked with some of the biggest names in the corporate & entertainment industry and is set to launch his own PR agency.

He joined BHM in April 2014 and started in Digital Media where he worked majorly on social media. Within six months, Bello was transferred to the Public Relations Department/Client Service Department in September 2014. His first role was to serve as an assistant on Hennessy/Viacom Account.

Having recorded success on his first task, he was made the client/service consultant for Gulder Ultimate Search XI, which put Bello on the chart as a man with enviable PR skills.

Bello also served as client/service consultant for Star Lager in December 2014. The task included projects such as the Lagos Countdown/Star Bottle Tree, which culminated into Star receiving an award during the ADVAN Awards in 2015.

"It wasn't an easy decision. I'm really proud of working at BHM, It's been a great journey, and I really want to appreciate Mr Ayeni Adekunle and the BHM team for the opportunity. I wish them more successes. I’m also delighted that I’m starting my own company. This is what I’ve always wanted to do. I can’t really describe how I feel at the moment but the feeling is good considering the fact that my dream is coming true. I can’t wait to see the company grow to become one of Nigeria’s leading PR agencies," says Bello.

"For the next few weeks, I'd be working on getting the right certifications with bodies such as PR CAN, NIPR and few others," he added, revealing that his first steps, post-BHM, would be getting the necessary certifications regarding PR.
