What happened to this pop singer?

A few months after, Wande Coal has left many baffled with the manner in which he has faded away from the music scene.

Once touted as the next big thing in Nigeria (and for a good minute he actually was) Wande Coal is swinging in between indifference and irrelevance.

The frustrating thing about Wande Coal is that now that the world is focused on Nigerian music, the singer is nowhere to be found. Ironically Wande Coal is regarded as the one who started this current sound of Nigerian pop music. Now that the spotlight is on us he goes missing. In March 2016, Wande Coal dropped a new video ‘Super Woman’ but it largely went unnoticed.

Wande Coal’s image took a huge blow when a nude photo which was said to be the singer leaked online in 2010. Since then Wande Coal has not gotten a grip on his career.

Somewhere in Wande Coal’s ascension he failed to transform himself into a bonafide star. He allowed himself to be held back by the Mo’Hits and Mavin drama for years.

When he struck out alone he didn’t make the best business decisions which have affected the shelf life of his ‘Wanted’ album. If Wande Coal does not take dire steps he will be regarded as an old singer by this time next year.

It’s baffling to see such a talented singer still stuck on such a low level while those who are not as gifted as him flourish in the music business.
