7 Great Places To Meet Hot Men In Lagos

Pulse VIP Chronicles is a daily series that will showcase the lifestyle of the rich and famous . We'll share their stories, triumphs and snippets of their jet set life

Just the other day, a newly married friend of mine made the ground-breaking discovery that there are no good men in Lagos. Her theory – the truly eligible bachelors are folks who have Ibadan as their roots. That is, they were either born/raised in Ibadan and relocated to Lagos at some point in search of greener pastures.

“Think about it, which original Lagos boy do you know is a good, eligible bachelor with the refined tastes of a gentleman?” she asked.

To help put this in perspective, her definition of a “good, eligible bachelor with the refined tastes of a gentleman” is simply a guy who'd NEVER cheat, a guy who'd hold open doors for a lady and who'd be sophisticated enough to appreciate art, music and theatre. A good guy, basically.

I thought about it – hard, for all of 60 seconds before I finally came up with a name which she quickly shot down, claiming that said person had infact spent a good part of his life outside Lagos. I couldn't believe it, surely I know a few good Lagos men! I thought. As it turned out, I did infact know a few, good men but only barely so.

It's not uncommon to find ladies bemoan the seeming lack of available good men these days. As a matter of fact, word on the dating street is all the good men have been taken. Well I beg to disagree, and I certainly do not agree that there are no good men in Lagos or of Lagos origin.

We of the VIP chronicles are here to reassure the good women of Lagos that there are still good men out there. Better yet, we'll tell you where such men can be found – VIP style *wink*.

***Honorary mention - Lekki/Ikoyi bridge: Ever drive by there in the evening or weekend morning? That bridge is a dating club waiting to happen. So ladies, get jogging and keep your eyes open while you're at it.
