"The Wilmette Police is seeking to check the well-being of Sinead O'Connor.

"O'Connor reportedly left the Wilmette area for a bicycle ride yesterday at 6:00am and has not returned. A caller has expressed concern for her well-being and no other information is available at this time."

The "Nothing Compares To U" crooner has reportedly claimed to be suicidal in the past but has also received treatment for her mental health.

O'Connor had, in November 2015, posted a suicide threat on Facebook, revealing that she had taken an overdose because of a “horrifying set of betrayals.”

“There is only so much any woman can be expected to bear.

“I’ve taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I’m at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name. If I wasn’t posting this, my kids and family wouldn’t even find out.”

The mother of four is an Irish singer and song writer who rose to fame in the late 1980s with her debut album, "The Lion and the Cobra".

We sincerely hoped she is found alive and in good health.
