Singer discusses post-Bieber with Sunday Times

''I didn’t think I was doing anything bad by falling in love,'' Gomez admits to Sunday Times

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez has admitted Justin Bieber was not an easy man to let go but when she finally did, she's now ready to focus on other things while waiting for a better relationship to come by.

It's no news that her on-and-off relationship with the Biebs has been almost the most singular thing about Gomez's career and now, she tells Sunday Times:

''It’s difficult for people to separate us. The internet wants to freeze this moment in time and constantly repeat it. I didn’t think I was doing anything bad by falling in love. There’s such an emphasis on people being the perfect thing and then destroying them because it’s good press. Throw in the fact that you are a teenager — it makes it more difficult.”

Now, however, Gomez seems to be putting dating behind her, admitting she doesn’t ''really want anything right now. But the next relationship will be something dear to me. There is no way I will ever hide my life. Sometimes you have to lie to yourself to get through the criticism, and then you’re in your closet crying. It’s been like that for me a couple of times, but I only want to learn from those things.''

Gomez further confesses BFF, Taylor Swift is one of those people she calls when the ships are down. "I can count on one hand the people I could call and who would be there for me. Taylor is one of the greatest people.”
