Selena Gomez has revealed she went through chemotherapy after being diagnosed with the Lupus disease. The singer opened up about her health scare in a recent interview with Billboard magazine.

Besides her shocking health revelation, Gomez, 23, also lashed out at the 'a**holes' who assumes she was struggling with addiction problems during her time away from the spotlight in early 2014. Other thought she took a break from music for reasons pertaining to her split with Justin Bieber. But the 'Good For You' says she was actually undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with lupus.

"I wanted so badly to say, ‘You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re assholes.’ I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again," she said.

During an interview with radar Online in May 2014, Selena's grandfather, Ricardo Gomez Sr. also discussed her diagnosis. "She’s in treatment. She’s getting along pretty good. What worries [us] more is that she doesn’t know how to say no. She won’t take time for herself to relax, to eat well," he said at the time. Same time rumors suggested Selena entered a treatment facility to help her deal with pressures caused by both work and personal matters (ie. her split with Justin).

“I’m so f***ing nice to everybody, and everyone is so vile to me. I’ve been working since I was 7. I’ve been a UNICEF ambassador since I was 17. It’s so disappointing that I’ve become a tabloid story,” Selena further said.
