British Royal kneels before a patient at New Zealand hospital

It's obvious the 30-year-old Prince has learned the humbling steps from mother Princess Diana too well.

Prince Harry kneels in New Zealand

Prince Harry is eventually following in the humbling footsteps of his late mother Princess Diana as he was snapped gracefully kneeling on the ground so he could speak with a man confined to a wheelchair at a spinal injury hospital in New Zealand on Friday, May 15.

The 30-year-old royal visited the spinal rehabilitation unit at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland's south to meet with patients as they took steps with their walkers and used hand weights as part of their treatment.

He was greeted at the hospital by a karanga, or call of welcome, which echoed through the large gymnasium.

Harry spoke intimately with a number of patients and encouraged them as they carried out exercises from their rehabilitation program.

About 30 staff from the hospital and the New Zealand Rugby Foundation - which supports the unit as a number of rugby players are undergoing treatment there - sang during the formal welcome for the prince.
